No, having your own takaful coverage does not make you a more likely target for a lawsuit. When something happens and a patient is injured, most lawyers will name everyone who was involved in the patients' care in the lawsuit — whether you have your own coverage or not.
It is highly recommended for you to own individual indemnity coverage because the government will not cover the cost of medico legal totally such as preliminary legal representatives. You will have to bear the cost yourself, which may take a substantial amount from your savings.

The contribution for this Takaful may vary individually depending on specialities, limit of liability, claim experience, and other underwriting considerations.
Yes of course, with the condition that there is no ongoing claim on the date of request. You will be required to top-up the prorated amount of the year. If you have an ongoing claim, it will be subject to approval.

If there are no claims or alleged claims against you prior to your application, it should be accepted within minutes. However, please note that coverage approval is ultimately controlled by the insurer. We assure you of our commitment to efficient customer support within our capabilities.
This will be treated separately. We will need the claim and/or alleged claim details and may propose an offer with certain terms and conditions.
Usually we will open on the 1st of July every year.

Our service provides certificates exclusively in digital format. You will receive your certificate via email, and it will also be available for download in your account portal.
If you choose not to renew your policy after it expires or if you terminate your certificate, your coverage will cease immediately. Since our coverage is on a claims-made basis, you will not be covered for any claims reported after your certificate lapses, even if the incident occurred while your certificate was active.
For doctors who terminate their certificate, the same rule applies — any claims made after termination will not be covered.
To ensure continuous protection, it is advisable to maintain your coverage without gaps.
As for individual coverage, you have the option not to update your place of practice in your existing certificate. Unless there are changes in your category or risk exposure.
